Fees, Calendar & Studio Policies

I want to be fully transparent in my studio policies. Families interested in taking lessons are welcome to read through them before they give me a call. All new students will be given a copy at their meet-and-greet or first lesson.

Tuition & Fees

Updated for academic year 2023 - 2024

There are two payment options - by the month or by the semester. Semester payments will receive a 5% discount. Please see the Studio Policies for full details.

Payment

There are two semesters, August to December and January to May.
Payment will be made at or before the first lesson of each month (or semester if paying semesterly).
Payments after the 10th will incur a $25 late fee.
Payment can be made by cash, check, Venmo or Cash App.
There is an $85 non-refundable registration fee payable when registering. This holds your spot in the studio and goes towards the cost of materials and books throughout the year.
Optional events (e.g. competitions, festivals, recitals and exams) will be paid for by the student.

Calendar

Piano lessons are organized into two semesters and an optional (but recommended) summer term.

Fall Semester

August 14 to December 16
Thanksgiving Break: November 19-26
Christmas Break: December 17 - January 7

Spring Semester

January 8 to May 25
Spring Break: March 24-31

Lessons are still held on Monday holidays.

Summer

Summer lessons are strongly encouraged for continuity. Any student who chooses to take summer off will lose their lesson slot and need to renegotiate a day and time in the fall. Please see the Summer Lesson options for full details on rates and scheduling flexibility.
